During their years in high school they remained friends and shared many band classes together. Later, they reconnected in college and continued to remain friends. After graduation, life took them on different paths, and they lost touch for several years.

Almost eight years later, fate intervened. Jared and Laura reconnected as friends and overtime realized that their feelings were much deeper. In spring of 2023, they went on their first date and have been inseparable since.
